SERDANG, 21 August 2026 – The Bursar’s Office of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) organised an online Refresher Briefing on Computer Purchase Reimbursement (BBPK) Applications via Google Meet at 3.00 p.m. The briefing was delivered by Mr Mohd Akhi bin Abu Bakar.

The briefing was organised to provide UPM staff with a refresher on the implementation of the BBPK facility. Key aspects covered included eligibility requirements, claim rates, application procedures, equipment purchase requirements, and the procedures for submitting claims through the eClaim System. The briefing also highlighted improvements approved by the University Board, including enhancements to the eligibility requirements concerning the remaining application period and the extension of the facility to officers in the Gred 5 and above Implementing Group.

The briefing also emphasised the responsibilities and roles of the various parties involved, including Heads of Responsibility Centres/Heads of Administration, Asset Officers, the ICT Section, and applicants. Officers were reminded to ensure that their applications are approved before making any purchases and that computer purchases are made within three months of approval.

Compliance with the claim submission deadline was also emphasised, including the requirement to submit claims through the eClaim System by 30 November each year.

The briefing concluded with a question-and-answer session, providing participants with an opportunity to seek further clarification on the implementation and procedures for BBPK applications.
