The programme was attended by 150 staff members of the Bursar’s Office, including representatives from UPM Sarawak and the Finance Division of Hospital Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah (HSAAS).
The main purpose of the meeting was to serve as a scheduled annual gathering held four (4) times a year. The meeting was not only focused on discussing staff-related issues, but also aimed to provide clarification and inform staff of any changes or the implementation of new policies by the Bursar’s Office.
This session also aimed to strengthen understanding, enhance compliance, and standardise the implementation of the Non-Government Funds Guidelines in line with the university’s financial governance requirements, which emphasise the principles of integrity, transparency, and accountability. The session began with a welcoming address and New Year’s message delivered by Puan Siti Amira Shukor, the Bursar. This was followed by a briefing by Pn. Mazitah Ahmad, Deputy Bursar, who explained the new guidelines to ensure comprehensive understanding among staff, covering aspects related to scope, procedures, and requirements for the application of the guidelines.
The programme also served as an official communication platform between the management and staff of the Bursar’s Office to discuss implementation issues, operational challenges, and proposals for continuous improvement in the university’s financial management. This initiative reflects the commitment of the UPM Bursar’s Office to strengthening the financial governance system and supporting the long-term financial sustainability of the university.
