SERDANG, 23 April 2025 – The Financial and Accounting Leadership Programme for Heads of Responsibility Centres (PTJ) was successfully organised by the Higher Education Leadership Academy (AKEPT) in collaboration with the Finance Division of the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) and the Bursar’s Office, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), from 21 to 23 April 2025.

The programme brought together 90 participants from various institutions, comprising 35 participants from 19 public universities, 51 from the Department of Polytechnic and Community College Education (JPPKK), and representatives from the Department of Higher Education and MOHE. UPM was represented by Professor Dr. Aminuddin bin Hassan and Mr. Abdul Razif bin Abdul Razak.

The opening ceremony was officiated by YBhg. Datuk Dr. Anesee bin Ibrahim, Secretary-General of MOHE, on 22 April 2025. In his keynote address, he emphasized the importance of efficient and transparent financial governance in higher education institutions.

Over the course of three days, participants attended nine learning sessions, covering topics such as government procurement management, public sector accounting, budgeting, and integrity-related issues. Speakers included senior officers from the Finance and Accounts Division of MOHE, as well as the Bursar of UPM.

The programme also featured Group Training Sessions (LDK) in the form of case studies facilitated by officers and facilitators from the UPM Bursar’s Office.

This course aims to enhance the understanding and capabilities of higher education leaders in financial management, in line with efforts to strengthen governance and accountability within the national education sector.
