OCTOBER 11, 2019: Financial management is a topic that needs to be constantly discussed between the Bursar Office and the responsibility center so that implementation at UPM is in line with the rules. Recognizing this need, the Research Management Center held a Dialogue Session between the Bursar Office and the UPM researchers to provide explanations and briefing to UPM researchers on the financial processes, policies and regulations used in research financial management.

The live dialogue session at the Philip Kotler Council, Faculty of Economics & Management at 3.00pm and the 2-hour lecture was very stimulating when the 100-member hall was filled with participants from all faculties and institutes, including the Deputy Dean / Director of Research, lecturers, researchers and administrative staff.

The Research Management Center has invited Prof. Dr. Goh Yong Meng (Deputy Director, Research Grant, RMC) as the moderator of this dialogue session. Representatives of the Bursar Office who were specially invited for the panel were Mrs. Hajah Izariahwati Mat Isa, Mrs. Norlian Ismail, Mr Yusri Hashim and Mrs. Hafizah Misran.

Overall, the organization of this dialogue session successfully raised issues that were a question for the participants and could be resolved together during the dialogue session. In addition, it is hoped that the RMC and the Bursar Office will be able to obtain input from UPM researchers for continuous improvement on the research financial process.
