12 July 2024 – Serdang: The Bursar's Office of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) today received the presence of judges for the READ@UNI UPM Reading Corner Competition 2023/2024. This important event was held as part of UPM's Service Quality and Innovation Day (HKIP) 2024, aimed at recognizing and celebrating efforts in promoting a culture of reading among UPM citizens.

The ceremony started at 9:30 am with a judging session led by Ms. Nazibah Kamaruddin and Mr. Khairul Anwar Zulkifli from the Sultan Abdul Samad Library (PSAS) who are also the organizers of this competition. They are tasked with evaluating reading angles based on four main criteria, namely Creativity and Innovation, Activity, Promotion, and Implementation Impact. These criteria include aspects such as creative ideas in the arrangement of the reading room, maintenance of activities, promotional strategies, as well as positive effects on users and the PTJ community.

Also present at this event was Puan Mazitah, representative of the Bursar's Office management as well as more than 40 participants and guests who enlivened the atmosphere. Puan Mazitah did not miss to give words of encouragement to all the participants and appreciate their efforts in increasing interest in reading.

"This competition not only recognizes creativity, but also aims to encourage reading as part of our daily lives," said Puan Mazitah.

The results of this competition will be announced at the HKIP 2024 celebration scheduled to take place in September. The organizers hope that this event will continue to fuel the culture of knowledge and reading in the Bursar's Office.
