Serdang, 22 August 2025 – On 22 August 2025, the Bursar Office of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) held a ceremony to honour Mr. Yusri Hashim, Senior Deputy Bursar, who will officially retire on 24 August 2025. The event began at 3.00 PM and was attended by staff members from the Bursar Office who gathered to celebrate and bid farewell to Mr. Yusri.

At 3.05 PM, Mr. Yusri Hashim, accompanied by the Bursar Office management and Madam Siti Amira binti Shukor, the Bursar, entered the foyer of the Serdang Briefing Hall, greeted with a warm round of applause from the staff.

The ceremony officially commenced with welcoming remarks by the emcee, who extended greetings to the Bursar, Mr. Yusri, and all staff present that afternoon. This was followed by a prayer recitation led by Mr. Muhammad Hilmi Zulkifli, from the Financial Management and Procurement Division.

The Bursar then delivered her speech, extending apologies and well-wishes on behalf of all staff. She expressed hope that the strong ties between Mr. Yusri and the Bursar Office would continue for years to come.

In his speech, Mr. Yusri shared heartfelt advice with the staff and prayed for the continued excellence of the Bursar Office in carrying out its duties with integrity. He also recounted his 35 years of service at UPM, urging all officers and staff to remain united, respectful, and cooperative in achieving shared goals.

During the multimedia presentation, Mr. Yusri appeared visibly touched, smiling warmly at the video produced by each division within the Bursar Office. The video also moved many of the staff in attendance.

The event was further enlivened by a presentation of commemorative gifts to Mr. Yusri by representatives from each division. A group photo session with all staff followed at the foyer of the Canselori Putra Building as a memento of the occasion.

The ceremony concluded as Mr. Yusri clocked out for the final time at 4.40 PM, before being escorted to his car.

The event was celebrated in a joyful and heartfelt atmosphere, attended by officers, staff of the Bursar Office, and colleagues who came to express their gratitude and best wishes to Mr. Yusri for his dedicated service over the past 35 years. Truly, his contributions and character will always be remembered and serve as an inspiration to the staff of the Bursar Office who continue to serve UPM.
