Serdang, 23 January 2026 – The Office of the Bursar, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), organised a briefing on the Implementation of the Universiti Putra Malaysia Non-Government Fund (NGF) Guidelines, involving all Heads of Responsibility Centres (PTJ), Heads of Administration, and officers responsible for managing financial matters at their respective PTJs. The briefing was held at the Jurutera Radin Umar Auditorium, Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Putra Malaysia.

The briefing, which took place from 9.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon, was delivered by Puan Mazitah Ahmad, Deputy Bursar of the Office of the Bursar. The programme aimed to provide a comprehensive explanation of the procedures for managing Trust Accounts classified as Non-Government Funds (NGF). The briefing covered various aspects, including procurement, budget preparation, payments, asset management, and revenue generation involving the use of these funds. NGF refers to funds obtained by the university from external sources such as industry partners, individuals, foreign funds, and other non-governmental sources, where the original source of funding does not originate from the Federal Government or State Government.

The briefing was also attended online by representatives from UPM Sarawak via the Google Meet application. A total of 202 officers were recorded as having participated in the briefing, reflecting Universiti Putra Malaysia’s continued commitment to ensuring compliance with financial guidelines and strengthening efficient, transparent, and integrity-driven fund governance in line with the university’s financial regulations and policies. It is hoped that the implementation of the NGF guidelines will assist PTJs in carrying out procurement and managing expenditures in accordance with the intentions of funders, while ensuring that programme objectives are achieved without violating prevailing financial regulations.
