SERDANG, 28 July – The Bursar's Office of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) welcomed a working visit from representatives of the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS) for a knowledge-sharing session on the implementation of the Tender Wizard procurement system, which is currently used by both organisations.

The visit, involving five officers from MIROS's Procurement Section, aimed to provide deeper insights into UPM's implementation of the Tender Wizard system while facilitating the exchange of experiences and best practices in strengthening digital procurement management.

Throughout the session, both organisations emphasised the importance of knowledge sharing and the adoption of best practices in enhancing digital procurement management. The open and interactive discussions provided an opportunity for both parties to exchange views, share experiences, and identify areas for improvement in delivering procurement services that are more efficient, transparent, and uphold the highest standards of integrity.

During the sharing session, MIROS representatives highlighted their experience with the Tender Wizard procurement system, which they have been using since 2008. Initially, the system supported direct purchases, quotations, and tender processes before being progressively enhanced over the years to meet the organisation's evolving operational requirements.

UPM, in turn, shared its experience in implementing the Tender Wizard system, which commenced in 2021. Hospital Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah (HSAAS) served as the pilot site, implementing the system across all procurement methods before its expansion to the entire university in 2024. In addition to presenting the implementation of the digital procurement system, the MIROS delegation also shared their procurement workflows and management practices.

The programme continued with a bilateral discussion, enabling both organisations to exchange perspectives, share practical experiences, and discuss proposals for improving the existing procurement system and governance framework. The knowledge-sharing session reflected the strong commitment of both organisations to strengthening collaboration, expanding knowledge exchange, and supporting the digitalisation agenda for procurement management.

Such initiatives are expected to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen governance, and foster a culture of continuous improvement in the delivery of public services. The working visit and knowledge-sharing session are also expected to serve as a platform for closer collaboration between UPM and MIROS in the future, while supporting efforts to advance digital transformation and excellence in procurement governance across Malaysia's public universities
