SERDANG - 4 February 2020 : The Office of Occupational Safety and Health (JKKP-BURSAR) has taken the initiative to strengthen management and risk management at the department level by organizing the Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control (HIRARC) Documentation Workshop. The workshop, which was attended by 16 members of the Bursar Office Occupational Safety and Health Committee (JKKP-BURSAR), was held on February 4, 2020 at the Hall of Office of Occupational Safety and Health.

The workshop was provided with technical assistance and information from Mr Mohammad Solehan Azmi from the Office of Occupational Safety and Health and Mr Mohd Hisham Ali from the Faculty of Engineering, University Putra Malaysia.

Participants were briefed on the introduction and explanation of HIRARC document preparation methods. At the end of the briefing, participants were divided into 3 groups according to different work processes. Participants are asked to provide Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and subsequently complete the HIRARC form for each of the activity process.

Overall, the workshop aimed at preparing documents to identify, assess / measure and control for any hazards in the workplace has achieved the desired goal. The workshop provided staff with the knowledge of identifying, evaluating, measuring and controlling a potential cause or condition which could lead to harm in the form of injury or ill health to humans, property damage, environmental damage or a combination of any harm mentioned
