Serdang, 8 September 2022 - The heat of Semarak Merdeka Programme organized by the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Culture and Arts Center (PKKSAAS) has not yet subsided when the Bursar's Office won prizes for 2 more categories, namely the creativity of recycling elements and the best program filling,

For the category of recycled creativity, the Bursar's Office has used damaged mengkuang mats and turned them into Malaysian flags, flags made from discarded bottle caps and eggshells and hibiscus decorations from recycled bottles. To add more excitement to the Semarak Merdeka corner, the Bursar's Office Staff also used second hand clocks to make the 2022 national day theme logo.

For the best program filling category, the jurors who conducted the judging on 24 August 2022 have chosen a short sketch which was successfully performed by several Bursar's Office staff showing the atmosphere after Tunku Abdul Rahman returned home after the declaration of Independence on 31 August 1957.

The prize was presented by the UPM Registrar, Mr. Muhazam bin Mansor in conjunction with the UPM Semarak Merdeka Program 2022 Prize Presentation ceremony on 6 September 2022 at PKKSAAS. The Bursar's Office was represented by Encik Yusri Hashim, Senior Deputy Treasurer receiving the gift during the program. This surprise gave joy to all the Bursars who had joined hands to make this Semarak Merdeka program a success.

Puan Burar also congratulated and thanked all staff for winning the championship and beating other PTJs who were also enthusiastic in making the Semarak Merdeka program a success. Hopefully this success will also be achieved in the future
