SERDANG - 20 July 2020: The Asset Management Financial Division (BKPA), Bursar Office has organized an Asset Management System Operations Workshop (FAMS) on 20 July 2020.

Head of BKPA, Mr Mohd ‘Akhi bin Abu Bakar said, the main goal of this workshop is to provide an understanding of the role and responsibilities of the appointed asset officer and strengthen the skills of officers and users of the FAMS system in operating the system.

He also said that this workshop is a platform provided by BKPA for Asset Officers and Assistant Asset Officers of PTJ, especially the newly appointed to understand their role in University Asset Management to ensure the management of University assets in good governance and order.

The workshop, which was done online, was delivered by two (2) speakers, namely Mrs Junaidah binti Md Isa and Mr Mohd Hafiz bin Amrullah, both of whom are Assistant Treasurers at BKPA. A total of 89 participants consisting of Asset Officers, Assistant Asset Officers and officers who manage maintenance at PTJ have registered and participated in the workshop.

Workshop participants were given briefings and training on how to operate the FAMS System which includes the process of updating asset information (barcode register, user and location), recording ‘workorders’ and how to issue reports through the FAMS System.

In addition to providing a better understanding of how to handle the FAMS System, the importance of ensuring asset information is recorded correctly and accurately were also emphasized during the workshop.
