SERDANG - 3 August 2023 : After several visit sessions planned by the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) to Universiti Putra Malaysia had to be postponed due to unavoidable reasons, this session was finally successfully implemented on 1-3 August 2023. Before therefore, UPM is required to provide a number of relevant documents for review and verification by the IRB and is related to this compliance. A compliance visit and information session from the officers at UPM which was held from 1-3 August 2023 starting at 10.00 am until 4.30 pm.

This visit is to provide a briefing on compliance and information regarding tax exemptions and double tax exemptions approved under Section 44(6) of the Income Tax Act 1997. The briefing session took place at the Senate Hall, Putra Chancellery Building, UPM Serdang and was attended by representatives -specially invited representatives such as WAZAN, the Research Management Center and other Responsibility Centers. In addition to the briefing session, the IRB also visited the UPM Research Center and UPM Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Hospital (HSAAS). All department heads and a total of 11 Bursar's Office officers are involved with this program while the rest are representatives from the responsibility center.

The purpose and objective of this briefing is to provide an overview, understanding and sharing of information regarding Sub Section 44(11D) of the ITA 1967 which is Waqf and Endowment.
