Serdang, 21 April 2025 – The Bursar’s Office, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), organised the sixth series of the Asset Management System (SPA) briefing on 19 May 2025 at the Bursar’s Office Meeting Room. This programme is part of an ongoing effort to enhance staff understanding and competency in implementing SPA at the responsibility centre (PTJ) level.

The session was attended by 20 participants representing 20 PTJs and was delivered by Ms. Junaida Md Isa from the Asset Management Division (BKPA). The briefing provided a detailed explanation of the four main modules of the SPA system. The participants, who serve as asset officers at their respective PTJs, continue to require guidance and consistent reinforcement from BKPA.

Topics covered included asset registration procedures, asset disposal processes, asset transfers between PTJs, and reporting functions. Emphasis was placed on procedural compliance and the importance of maintaining accurate and up-to-date asset records.

In addition to the presentation, participants were encouraged to ask questions and engage in discussions about current asset management challenges in their departments. These experience-sharing sessions proved beneficial in strengthening mutual understanding.

This initiative is seen as a proactive step in ensuring asset management at the university is carried out more efficiently, systematically, transparently, and in accordance with current guidelines.
