BURSAR OFFICE OPENING EID-UL-FITRI CEREMONY

Serdang, 30 May 2022 – For the first time ever, the 2022 Hari Raya Aidilfitri Celebration was held simultaneously across all Responsibility Centres (PTJ) in UPM on 30 May, corresponding to 29 Syawal 1443H. The Bursar’s Office joined in the festivities by organizing an Open House Celebration today, themed “Jamu Selera Sambil Beramah Mesra (Feast & Fellowship)”, reflecting the core intention of strengthening bonds and fostering goodwill among clients and the UPM community.

The event began at 11:00 a.m., welcoming external guests to celebrate Hari Raya at the Bursar’s Office. Among the esteemed guests were UPM Vice-Chancellor YH Dato’ Dr. Mohd Roslan Sulaiman, Prof. Ir. Dr. B.T Hang Tuah Baharudin (Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Industry and Community Relations), Prof. Dr. Azmawani, representatives from CIMB, and many others.

To enhance the festive spirit, a Best Booth and Best Dressed (King & Queen) competition was organized by the Bursar’s Office Sports and Welfare Club (KSKB). Seven booths competed, each representing a collaboration of different divisions within the Bursar’s Office. A wide variety of dishes were served at each booth, including laksa, curry noodles, traditional Malay kuih, Bali-style chicken with yellow glutinous rice, satay, roti jala, and a range of drinks. Nasi minyak and lontong were also featured as the main courses. Guests were entertained with live singing performances by Bursar’s Office staff.

The booth judging began at 9:45 a.m., carried out by appointed judges Mr. Abdullah Arshad (Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor HEPA) and Ms. Syazaliana (Registrar’s Office).

At the highlight of the event, the winners of the Best Booth and Best Dressed competitions were announced. Nevertheless, food service continued until all dishes were finished.

Best Booth Winners:

  • 1st Place: Laksa Booth by the Administration Section and Procurement Section

  • 2nd Place: Bali Chicken Booth by the Student Finance Section and Revenue Management Section

  • 3rd Place: Curry Noodles Booth by the Accounting, Income Generation, and Budget Sections

Best Dressed Winners:

  • Male (King): Mr. Mohd Asri Abdullah

  • Female (Queen): Ms. Nurul Atiqah Mohamed

Madam Hajjah Izariahwati Mohd Isa, Senior Deputy Bursar (Acting Bursar), expressed her deepest appreciation and heartfelt thanks to all staff of the Bursar’s Office for making the 2022 Syawal celebration a success. She also hoped that the team spirit and dedication shown would continue to contribute toward excellence in service delivery.
