SERDANG, 7 November 2025 – The Bursar’s Office is the Coordinator of the Friday Charity Programme, organised by the Surau Canselori Putra Committee, UPM. This programme continues the weekly Friday Charity contributions practised by the staff of the Bursar’s Office. The donations collected are channelled in the form of breakfast food and basic necessities.
November is the Bursar’s Office’s turn to provide contributions for staff and customers conducting business at the Canselori Putra Building. As early as 7.45 a.m., the pre-ordered food arrives at the main lobby in packed form to make it easier for staff and customers to bring their food to their respective locations. At this time, staff and customers begin gathering to collect the prepared food. The distribution is coordinated by the Bursar’s Office volunteer team, who also have the opportunity to interact with recipients and deliver the assistance directly. Among the food items provided are nasi lemak, assorted traditional cakes, and fruits.
The contribution rotation schedule for this programme has been arranged in advance and is supported by nine (9) other Responsibility Centres (PTJ) operating in the Canselori Building. Each PTJ adheres to the schedule and takes turns preparing and distributing the food during their designated month.
This programme indirectly strengthens relationships among staff from the ten (10) PTJs located in the Canselori Putra Building while fostering a spirit of cooperation and unity among university members in carrying out charitable activities. The programme should be continued in the future as it brings significant benefits, particularly to less fortunate staff.
The Bursar’s Office remains committed to supporting such initiatives as part of efforts to enhance community well-being and cultivate the value of compassion among UPM staff in achieving the True North aspirations outlined by the Vice-Chancellor.
