SERDANG, 03 October 2023 – An afternoon tea ceremony was held at the Finance Division of Centralized Operations Management (BPOB) to give appreciation to Mr. Abdullah b. Yaakob in conjunction with his retirement on 14 January 2024. The appreciation ceremony was held earlier because he will be taking early leave from 04 October 2023.

The brief ceremony was attended by Puan Bursar, Pn. Izariahwati bt. Mohd Isa, Senior Deputy Treasurer, Mr. Yusri b. Hashim, the BPOB officers, also his colleagues. The ceremony started with a speech by Ms. Izariahwati bt. Mohd Isa. He thanked Mr. Abdullah b. Yaakob for his 38 years of service at the Bursar's Office, UPM. Then followed brief speeches from En Yusri b. Hashim and his colleagues, shared experiences and memories during the period of working together. The ceremony continued with a speech from Mr. Abdullah b. Yaakob, shared his bittersweet experience during his 38 years of service at the Bursar's Office. He expressed a thousand thanks for all the guidance and apologized if there were any mistakes during his service here.

The next ceremony was followed by the giving of gifts by the Sports Welfare Club and Treasurer (KSKB) and gifts from other financial sections. The ceremony ended with the recitation of a safe prayer by Mr. Mohd Hafiz b. Amrullah, pray for his well-being and journey towards a new phase in retirement.

Thank you to the finance sections who donated the afternoon drinks menu at the event. It is prayed that Mr. Abdullah b. May Yaakob always be blessed with long health and peace in his impending retirement.
