Serdang, December 20, 2024 — The handover of the "Professional Finance for Non-Finance" (ProFiNoF) training modules was officially completed today in a meeting held at the Akademi Kepimpinan Pendidikan Tinggi (AKEPT) office. The event marked the conclusion of a collaborative effort between the Bursar's Office of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and AKEPT, aimed at enhancing the financial literacy of individuals without a financial background.
This initiative began with a proposal submitted by the Bursar’s Office to AKEPT through a letter dated September 20, 2019, which outlined the development and publication of 100 copies of a ProFiNoF module with a budget of RM50,000. The initiative aimed to help non-financial professionals understand key finance concepts that could aid in their work and decision-making processes.
After several discussions, including a significant meeting with AKEPT on April 2, 2024, it was decided that the 100 printed copies of the ProFiNoF module would be distributed to all 19 public universities (excluding UPM). Of these, 40 copies were formally handed over to AKEPT, which will distribute them to the respective universities. The remaining copies will be managed by UPM for distribution to relevant agencies and for promotional purposes related to the ProFiNoF program.
On September 24, 2024, the printed modules were officially received by the Bursar's Office from UPM Publishing. The handover ceremony was held on December 20, 2024, at 3:00 PM in the AKEPT meeting room.
The handover ceremony was led by Puan Izariahwati Mat Isa, the Bursar of UPM, who presented the 40 modules to Prof. Madya Dr. Azmul Fahimi Kamaruzaman, the Deputy Director of the Leadership Development Centre at AKEPT. Other representatives from the Bursar's Office included Puan Junaida Adan, Cik Wan Rozidayani Wan Mohamad, and En Mohd Hafiz Amrullah. From AKEPT, Prof. Madya Dr. Azmul Fahimi Kamaruzaman was joined by Encik Sugentheeran a/l Komannayar and Cik Nur Fatin Syafiqah binti Abdul Jaafar.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:30 PM after the successful handover. The collaboration between UPM and AKEPT represents a continued effort to enhance professional development within the academic community and beyon
