PUBLIC SECTOR CONDUCTIVE ECOSYSTEM AWARENESS (EKSA) BRIEFING

Serdang, 09 August 2022 - EKSA is no longer a stranger among the people of the Bursar's Office where it has become a necessity for the formation of values and discipline of employees in the office work space. In connection with that, a Public Sector Conducive Ecosystem Awareness Briefing (EKSA) was held at the Serdang Briefing Hall physically in the bawha managed by the EKSA Training Committee on 9 August 2022 from 9.30 am. Among the purposes of this briefing was held to increase the understanding and awareness of Bursar's Office employees towards EKSA practices in line with the quality criteria and standards that must be implemented, to foster a responsible attitude for a conducive work environment and to practice continuous improvement without neglecting the atmosphere and corporate image in the workplace.
The briefing session started with a welcome speech by EKSA Chairperson of the Bursar's Office, Puan Siti Amira binti Shukor representing the Bursar who was unable to attend because she had other official business. In his welcome speech, the Chairman hoped that the staff of the Bursar's Office would use the opportunity to share with the speaker to appreciate and improve their understanding more clearly about the implementation of EKSA which is being actively implemented at the Bursar's Office. He also urged that all employees give solid commitment so that the Bursar's Office succeeds in winning the EKSA Award again during the Service Quality and Innovation Day (HKIP) which will take place on 06 December 2022.
This briefing was delivered by guest speaker Mr. Mohd Isnain bin Ali, Head of the Center for Co-Curriculum and Student Development who is a certified EKSA facilitator at UPM. A total of 120 Bursar Office staff attended this briefing session which lasted for 2 hours. This briefing was very beneficial to the participants and many tips and ideas were shared by him for continuous improvement by emphasizing the elements of creativity and innovation.
In retrospect, UPM initially started the implementation of Quality Environmental Practices with the 5S concept until on 29 January 2020, the University Management Committee Meeting (JPU) approved the rebranding of 5S to EKSA. Accordingly, EKSA is rebranding the 5S Practice, not aiming to replace the 5S Practice concept that has already been practiced before at UPM. Instead, improve the 5S elements by supporting the creation of a conducive work environment. The purpose of branding is to meet the needs of all branding objectives which are corporate image, conducive work environment, PTJ diversity, creative and innovative and go-green so that the identity remains relevant and has a new image
