Serdang, 17 December 2025 – The Bursar’s Office of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) organised a Briefing Session on the Implementation of the updated Treasury Instruction 58 (AP58), specifically for staff of the Bursar’s Office, with the aim of strengthening understanding and ensuring continuous compliance with the prevailing financial regulations. The organisation of this session forms part of the University’s ongoing efforts to enhance integrity and transparency in financial management.

The briefing session was delivered by Puan Yusnawati Mat Isa, Head of the Finance Division of Hospital Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah (HSAAS), and was conducted online via the Google Meet platform at 9.30 a.m. A total of 113 staff members from the Bursar’s Office at the Serdang and Sarawak campuses participated in the session.

The briefing, which lasted several hours, provided detailed explanations on the scope of application of the updated AP58, including the roles, responsibilities, and obligations of officers directly involved in the University’s financial management. Emphasis was also placed on the importance of compliance with the Treasury Instructions to prevent non-compliance, financial risks, and potential legal implications.

The organisation of this briefing reflects the Bursar’s Office’s continuous commitment to ensuring that the University’s financial governance is carried out efficiently, effectively, and with full accountability. This initiative is aligned with current legal requirements and financial policies, supporting the sustainability and reputation of the institution. It also aims to ensure that the financial year-end closing process for 2025 is conducted smoothly and in full compliance with the applicable regulations.
